Setup the WhatsApp Business App

Before engaging with SalesRook we need to ensure that your WhatsApp setup is correct.

This guide will walk you through the process of setting up WhatsApp Business for your work life.

By completing the following instructions, you'll be able to run both the standard and business versions of WhatsApp, effectively separating your personal and professional communications.

You can think of it as the WhatsApp equivalent of having an individual work email address (e.g., john.doe@yourcompany.com).

Setup varies slightly depending on whether

📱 - You use one mobile phone for everything (personal and work)

OR

📱+📱- You use two mobiles, one for personal, the other for business

I have one mobile phone

If you use one mobile phone, to use WhatsApp and SalesRook legitimately, you'll need to run two version of WhatsApp from your device. Once complete, your setup will be:

ACTION: In your app store, please download and setup WhatsApp Business.

IMPORTANT: Do not set it up using your normal mobile number. You MUST use your direct-dial-in (DDI) line. This will be your personal work number - most likely the one linked to the phone at your desk.

If you're using two phones, you can install the standard WhatsApp on your personal device and WhatsApp Business on your work device.

Great. Setup will be easier for you because you can connect WhatsApp and Reapit via SalesRook using the WhatsApp account linked to your business mobile.

n.b. If you're using the normal version of WhatsApp on your work phone, we highly recommend downloading and moving to use WhatsApp Business instead. It's free, and comes with many benefits for business use.
